GEO Business Question Time: What is the future of the geospatial industry?

Mike Hopkins MCInstCES is Chairman of The Survey Association Technical Committee and Managing Director of Storm Geomatics Limited.

Mike has 30 years’ experience in the land surveying profession, starting with optical instruments and ink drawings and currently utilising a multitude of hi-tech sensors and processing techniques to deliver geospatial solutions. As managing director of a geomatics company he is always on the look-out for innovative processes to improve efficiencies within the business and create increased value and quality for his clients. Being chairman of The Survey Association technical committee Mike is responsible for introducing and maintaining client guides on the many different survey techniques used by the associations 174 member companies. Mike is a true team player both socially and in business and understands that positive, regular communication across a group keeps you at the top; and believes that collaboration between companies within the geospatial sector and beyond will provide new and exciting opportunities for geomatics surveyors going into the future.
